Photopolymer plates
The latest generation of flexographic photopolymer plates from MacDermid Graphics Solutions.
The product range includes digital photopolymer plates with a flat top dot, made with “clean printing” technology, digital plates with a round top dot, analogue plates and plates for varnishing.
MacDermid plates are intended for all printing segments: labels and tags, flexible packaging, corrugated cardboard, paper, bags, sacks, multi-layer packaging, varnishing. They meet the highest quality requirements of flexographic printing. Particularly noteworthy are the plates of the LUX ITP™ family, plates with a ‘flat top dot out of the box’, made with clean printing technology. The portfolio opens with the pioneering LUX ITP™ 60 hard plate and its medium-hard version, LUX ITP™ M. All plates in the LUX ITP™ family allow a flat top dot to be achieved using existing equipment in the printing house or trade shop, without the need for additional materials or equipment. A unique feature of modern MacDermid plates is that they can be processed using both solvent and thermal processes, using processors to remove unexposed polymer, such as MacDermid LAVA® or others.
The portfolio also includes such plates as LUX® ITP™ EPIC, LUX® ITP™ EDGE and LUX® ITP™ MELO.
Achieving a point with a flat top is also possible by using LUX technology, in which a standard digital plate is laminated with a special membrane that is removed after the plate is exposed.
Plates for printing corrugated board with LUX technology are:
- LUX® ITP™ EDGE plate – incorporates the revolutionary MacDermid flat top dot technology. Thanks to its optimized dot structure, LUX® ITP™ EDGE reduces fluting without the use of additional plate manufacturing techniques or exposure systems. This photopolymer plate is designed to print high-quality images on corrugated board, with near 1:1 reproduction, up to 120 lpi. LUX® ITP™ EDGE can print retail-ready packaging with high-end graphics, with well-defined dots on corrugated surfaces LUX® ITP™ EDGE is the first MacDermid plate designed for corrugated board, formulated with MacDermid’s patented clean plate technology. This technology reduces machine stops and provides cleaner printing and improved ink spillage.
- LUX ITP MELO board – this is a super soft plate for flat top dots straight from the box – ideal for printing low to medium quality corrugated board. The plate provides excellent image reproduction and minimal cardboard crushing. The LUX ITP MELO plate has an optimized dot profile, resulting in a reduction in striation without the use of additional plate preparation techniques or exposure systems.
In addition, the excellent Digital MAF plate is designed for corrugated board printing. MacDermid’s Digital MAF plate is a digital photopolymer plate designed to meet the demands of the corrugated industry. It has a dot profile optimized for corrugated board post-printing, resulting in reduced fluting without the use of additional plate preparation techniques or exposure systems.
